And where are the roots of your thriving planted?
We believe that culture is everything and is the lens through which we understand our world. People from diverse cultural backgrounds display different constructions of mental illness and various ways of handling and coping with their situation and/or condition.
We are bound by the rules of our culture which shapes behavior and our emotional life, as well as the daily challenges in facing racism. We are committed as a team to provide an intimate space to understand the Mind, Body, and Spirit connection, from a cultural and ancestral perspective.
From a trauma-focused approach we recognize and emphasize how individual and historical trauma impacts a person's mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. The intention is to offer skills and strategies to assist you in understanding, coping with, processing emotions and memories tied to traumatic experiences, and challenge the paradigms through which we have been misdiagnosed and mistreated.
Emotional Landscaping is the process of examining the different layers in our external and internal world. It’s about managing and transforming your feelings and emotions in this journey of love and healing, to gain knowledge and skills to move from life challenging to life-affirming actions and behaviors.
We take the steps to ensure you feel safe in our sessions, with appreciation of diversity and inclusion of your cultural, religious or spiritual beliefs. Key elements are collaboration, engagement, self-empowerment, and transparency. Our values are that you as a consumer have a right to express your own experiences, you have the potential to build your life, you are an informed decision maker with self-direction, and you can develop and use your internal and external resources.
